Charlie and Shelly were great hosts, the cabin was lovely, with well marked light switches, gas grill and well stocked and organized kitchen. The deck offered a great view of the river, and wonderful sunsets (when the sun was shining). The lower level offered a quiet place to play games and "chill".
Besides the beautiful spot on the Michigamme River, the area has a lot of history that was fascinating. It is a great place for a quiet retreat. Charlie offered to transport us for a float down the river, however the weather did not cooperate.
We highly recommend this cute cabin, and Charlie and Shelly as hosts!

we stayed here for our yearly snowmobile trip to the U P and this cabin was a great fit for our group. snowmobile trail is only a block from the cabin and the trails in the area are excellent !!! Charlie & Shelly have a beautiful cabin and are definitely "Super Hosts" thanks for everything !!!

The cabin is beautiful. We had an issue with the septic and they had it repaired the very same day. The cabin is stocked like no other place we have rented. They have a wide variety of foods, spices, condiments, first aid items, etc., and you’ll find all you need to cook in their cabinets. Very comfortable beds. The cabin is in a beautiful location on the river and it is very spacious. We snowmobiled there and the trail system is nothing short of spectacular. Thank you for a wonderful trip!

Great getaway in the U.P.!

Cabin was cozy and spacious at the same time. Plenty of room for our family of 6 to spread out. Well stocked kitchen. The extra soap and shampoo was appreciated! The basement is a lovely surprise- the many streaming services on the tv, the games, books and puzzles. And the sauna!!! The view out the living room and from the porch is why we chose to stay here. The kayaks were a great bonus as well. The perfect retreat.

Snowmobile trip

Very nice log cabin. Great location for a snowmobile trip. Accommodated 7 adults easily with room to spare. We put a air mattress in the basement next to the bed, and a cot in the loft area next to two beds. Very clean with all the accommodations. Beautiful property right on the river. A mini Mart and a bar and restaurant right at the end of the driveway. Trail access directly across the street. Plenty of trailer parking. Great response time with the owners. Everything was exactly what the listing says. I would recommend this property for any type of a vacation.

Waterfalls in the Yoop!

This property was very nice! Everything we needed was there and then some! Very clean and roomy! It was pet friendly which was a nice bonus, and the dogs loved the property, especially being on the river and being able to jump in and swim! We were busy during the days chasing waterfalls and it was so nice to come back to a very comfortable place to unwind. Republic is a very pretty area and we did walk the dogs in the mornings before we took off on the adventures of the day. The hosts, Charlie and Shelly were so kind and friendly and checked in on us a few times. We would definitely stay here again!!

Wonderful Cabin on Michigamme River

Comfortable, well appointed cabin - Charlie & Shelly thought of everything guests might want or need. Secluded location, quiet and rustic. Beautiful views of the river, kayaks for our use, swimming, grilling on the deck, enjoying the fire pit (to keep away the mosquitos in summer!). If you want to get away and totally unwind, this is the place!

Charlie & Shelly are superior hosts! They welcomed us when we arrived. They have lots of extras for their guests who might forget things, from kitchen items to bath essentials. The view from the deck is a picture postcard. The area is serene & provides opportunities to just relax. We look forward to stopping & staying next trip, and hopefully our family can join us!

We had a great stay! The views are gorgeous and there is plenty of room for games and hanging out. The hosts were very helpful and had lots of useful information in the home too. We loved using the kayaks provided and the well stocked kitchen. It was a perfect way to spend our time in the UP.

Very nice place with plenty of wildlife. We rode dirt bikes, atv and sxs. Did a lot of exploring off road since we usually only get to that area in the winter for snowmobiling and wanted to learn the area better. The river is very nice for all day kayak trips also that we did. All family members (6) said they will definitely be back. Thanks again Charlie and Shelly for being wonderful host. Mike Kohls
